Ladd M. Seaberg and Karen L. Seaberg Family Foundation

Mission:

The Ladd M. Seaberg and Karen L. Seaberg Family Foundation supports the needs of not for profit organizations in Atchison County, Kansas; seeking to implement promising and innovative initiatives and programs that promote an economically strong, vibrant and resilient community.  In and beyond Atchison County, the Foundation supports organizational programs that engage our family members and our Board of Directors, make a measurable impact,  and are sustainable, fiscally responsible, and transparent.

Purpose:

Our family is committed to giving back to our community.

We define ourselves as investors and are interested in creating the highest possible levels of measurable impact for the grant dollars we award. To carry out our mission and achieve measurable impact, we support the following priorities:

Affordable Housing – We support programs and projects that create the availability of housing to those with a median household income or below.

Financial Literacy – We fund organizations that provide education and promote the practice of financial literacy to gain and preserve self-sufficiency. In general, this includes teaching the skills to create a budget, track spending, learning the techniques to pay off debt and effectively plan for major expenditures such as education and retirement.

Trade School / Skill Development – We fund the availability and delivery of quality post-secondary education that offer diploma, certificate, and associate degrees in vocation and technical training to prepare students for a career in skilled trades and vocational fields.

Atchison Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum Foundation – We fund the AAEHM Foundation to provide ongoing maintenance and capital improvements, upgrade exhibits and underwrite the expansion and availability of programming to under served youth.

Medical Research – We fund the work of the Cray Medical Research Foundation of Atchison. Our partnership leverages the more than thirty years of support for diabetes care and research from the late Cloud “Bud” and Sally Cray. Together, we support diabetes education and research initiatives.
